What we have here is a gathering of reproduction Planet Robots that have all been modified by John Rigg to make different variations on Planet Robot. We now have a tin clawed Battery-Operated robot, two hard plastic handed versions, and three soft rubber-handed versions. One of which also another Battery-Op variation. What do you do when the makers of reproduction robots forget to make all the proper versions?.... Call John Rigg!!! Thanks, John! |

Wind-Up Robbys by Billiken. About 8 inches tall and came in both brown and green litho versions. Box art is funky and very cool. And certain ones were packed with a die-cast Blaster Pistol!

Two of the most beautiful and amazing modern Robby toys were both made by Osaka Tin Toy Institute. The larger walks, stops and waves his blaster back and forth as it shoots and then continues. Everything works and lights up and it's awesome to see. Done in gunmetal with Special Edition versions in bright shinny gunmetal, silver, and chrome! The other is a wind-up with a litho panel that rolls under the dome to simulate motorized actions. Also comes in silver and with a special red blaster pistol!

Robby action figure by Medicom. Lighted head and chest panel and as you turn head the sax valves inside dome actually pump up and down! Great little robot and already climbing in price big time. Two versions were made with one featuring the special claw hands used by Robby to fly the C-57D in the last scene of the movie.

A set of fantasy color Pugs from John Rigg. One all in red and another in white & red.

A line up of more Rigg custom Pugs include a fantasy Bare Metal Pug, a silver with red heart box (another original version that exists), a gold & black D-Celled version with twin motorized horizontal spinning antenna, and finally a silver & red D-Celled version also with twin spinning horizontal motorized antenna. The D-Celled Pistons are exact faithful reproductions of very rare versions of this robot that sell for much higher prices than the common C-Celled ones we see most often. Thanks to John's talents I have reproductions of all the versions of Piston Action Robot.
