Innovation Comics did an
illustrated novelization of
Forbidden Planet in four issues but
I only really liked this cover with the
classic Robby holding Altaira pose.
How weird is this! A futuristic themed
HoneyMooners comic with Robby &
Gort on the cover! This holds the
record for the best buy I've ever had
on eBay. I won this a year ago for
only ONE CENT! That's right, just a
penny.! And it's mint!
Katy Keen was a Betty Paige type
of pin-up that was part of the
Archie Series of comic books and
this is the cover from a paper-doll
cut -out book. Very sexy stuff
inside. But we all know that we
read Archie comics for Betty &
Veronica so this is no big surprise!
But check out the classic Robby
holding Altaira pose on the cover!
Clearly, the artist was a Forbidden
Planet fan!
Another beautiful Italian colorized poster for The
Invisible Boy. Just fantastic!
Interesting Danish poster for FP all in very light
tones of green. A real bitch to photograph and I
apologize for the lousy picture. I also think it's time
to get a new digital camera.
This is a two page fold-out
that was from a publicity
flyer. It's on very thin
newprint paper and there's
a poster of Robby on the
reverse. It's one of my
favorite "throw-away"
pieces of Forbidden Planet
print material. Just terrific
looking!
Another really bad photograph
of a really good movie poster.
Sorry! Sometimes I'm just too
lazy to start taking all this stuff
off the walls to get the right
angles for taking pictures. Italian
poster showing Robby facing off
against two army guards in The
Invisible Boy.
Publicity still for Forbidden Planet. There are
many, many shots released by MGM, but I only
add the ones with Robby in the shot.
There are 6 American lobby cards for Forbidden
Planet, but I only added the ones featuring
Robby to my collection.
This is great. It's a free movie ticket to
see either Forbidden Planet or
Forever Darling that was packed inside
boxes of Quaker Oats! Makes me
wonder of MGM was a little scared at
the last minute that the American
public wouldn't flock to see a major
color Sci-Fi movie.
