These are Japanese made tin litho Space Jeeps with what is clearly the Lost In Space Jupiter 2 saucer as
seen from underneath. Weird little toy
s are so tiny and rare. They, like a lot of off-beat LIS items, came from
Argentina.
This shows you how small the jeep is next to a Robby
Tank. And the dark blue Universe Jeep is even
smaller still!
LIS robot from the Remco Swtich'N'Go Play
Set. Little chromed plastic robot is about 3" tall.
Two interesting little items here. First is a Robby silver lady's
broach pin with rhinestones! Who came up with the idea that
Robby would make for a nice broach? The other is a Japanese
made plastic dart pistol with Robby on the handle grip! Can't
find out anything about this and no maker's marks anywhere.
Great yellow candle in the shape of
Mechanical Moon Robot Robby. This was
sold by the Spencer's Gifts chain stores
back in the early '90's when I first started
collecting. Finally got one just this month.
Only took 13 years!!
Thanks again to Jay Brotter for this fantastic
find. An Aquapolis LIS B-9 model kit circa
1984. In perfect condition and all made from
die-cast parts. Sis piece to the Robby Robot kit.
Awesome 13" tall bronze Robby statue from
Japan. Thanks to Jay Brotter for this great
find! It weighs over 10 pounds!
Beautiful ceramic Japanese children's rice bowls featuring
the image of Robby holding hands with adoring kids.
Special thanks to Ray Rohr for this. Also have one in dark
red.
Cragstan's Mr. Atomic Robot by
Yonezawa of Japan is a great second
cousin of Robby in my opinion. Looks
like a Robby head with tap-dancing feet!
There's no doubt that head design has
Robby genes running through it!
Another great addition to the collection is this custom made Robby Bolo tie from the early 1990's dne
by Ray Rohr. Notice the tie end-caps are little C-57D Crusiers! Very cool!
While this isn't a vintage toy, it's certainly a vintage Robby item from the 1960's. In fact, it's the
largest Robby inspired item I ever owned and I'm sad to say the only one in the collection I no longer
have. It's a child's coin-operated amusement ride! Two seats inside and a control panel with buttons
that activated lights and buzzers made for a fun space ride as the robot rocked from side to side.
But because of a lack of storage space at the time (this is quite large! ) I was forced to sell if after a
few years of it  taking up some considerable space in the driveway! Maybe one day I'll get lucky and
find another.
